Manual mode allows long shutter speeds up to 15 seconds, max ISO is 200, not too bad but nothing stellar. For easy IR shots, choose "night scene", this allows longer shutter speeds and forces ISO 200. Following is an example.
Camera: Pentax Optio 330
Filter: Heliopan 715nm IR pass filter
Exposure time: 1/4
F-stop: 2.6
ISO speed: 200
Focal length: 7.6000
White Balance: Automatic
EV: 3.757

comments: Night Scene (program auto) - a bit overexposed, but ok
The Pentax Optio 330 does not store ISO data in the EXIF information the way other cameras do. Strange. So most EXIF readers cannot read the EXIF data of the older Pentax Optio cameras. Probably because the info is hidden in the makernotes. I found only one reader that can read the "sensitivity": www.takenet.or.jp/~ryuuji/minisoft/exifread/english/ [At the same time I found it, a nice fellow in the dpreview forums told me the same link. =) ] It is surely useful if you have a Pentax Optio, but it can handle other cameras just as well.
